Fashion can be a real stickler. We’ve tried dresses with so many cut-outs we might as well be wearing underwear, wedges so chunky that they are confused for dictionaries and lipsticks in a rainbow of colours from black to purple. Whatever trends might be coming our way this summer, we are sure they are bound to be bold.
Big, bold lashes featuring feathers, a kaleidoscope of colours and any length you may desire have become the beauty trend to try for summer. So for that night your looking to grab some attention, why not pop on some daring, dramatic lashes and see where the night takes you!
The Brow Bar’s Long Weekend Lashes will be the perfect fix for any woman wanting to pencil in a little bit of extra glamour in their weekend agenda. Applied by a Brow Bar Arch Angel, these lashes are guaranteed to go the distance due to their specifically designed adhesive. Even if you just have one night of festivity planned, The Brow Bar’s All Night Long Lashes will ensure your packing a little oomph into your party ensemble.
This tricky trend may not be for average daytime wear, and definitely not for the feint hearted, but if you looking for that extra oomph out of your evening this may be your ticket.
However if your abiding by the fashion mantra whereby less is more, our Brow Bar Arch Angels can provide you with a subtle set of lash extensions to give you a delicate yet beautiful look.

Joel Edgerton, the battler from Sydney’s outer suburban fringe, has never had anything handed to him on a plate. But after 15 years of hard slog, our 2011 Man of the Year is finally reaping the rewards of continuing to back himself when lesser men would have long given up.
“There’s a stage where you’re desperate to get a job and you’re waving your hands in a sea of nothingness going ‘Please, please, please! I’m over here, give me a job!’” Edgerton points out in the course of a wide-ranging interview. “And then you get to a point where suddenly the magic wand has been waved over you and they’re just throwing every project at you that you can imagine. It’s all or nothing.”
Having had the magic wand belated waved over him, Edgerton tells GQ he’s determined to make the most of the momentum he’s built up — while continuing to make a significant contribution to the Australian film industry that nurtured him.

The fashion pack has crossed the globe from New York over to London town where swarms of models, editors and fashionista’s alike have been pulling out their most fabulous, blog worthy Spring/Summer12 looks for London Fashion Week.
The trends have changed, yet alas the brows remain untouched – ladies it appears this season that big brows truly are beautiful.
Burberry sent brows down the runway so healthy and glossy we cringed thinking about that pre-Spring pluck fest. Much like the fuller, defined brows on the glowing goddesses at Sass & Bide. The models adorned in splashes of neon hues received brow buffing from Terry Barber who is straying from a faultless brow this season, “Avoid the threading – it looks too perfect!”
MAC’s Gemma Smith-Edhouse also gave a slight nod to the androgyny trend by creating big, brushed-up brow.
The illustrious brow is an adaptable comrade however, and has morphed to the change of scene with a host of beauty tricks that ensure that no head will remain unturned this spring.
We’re channeling the girls on the catwalk at Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney, where our bold brows are sitting pretty alongside colourful contoured cheeks, bold liquid eyeliner and this season’s beauty must – the berry lip.
Here’s to taking these catwalk looks home –
Brows should be shaped and defined but not drawn on to heavy. Fill in your arches with a The Brow Bar Brow pencil or The Brow Bar Brow duo powder in blondi or brunette.
Eyes should be kept simple with a touch of drama. Achieve this by sweeping liquid liner along your lash line. When applying liquid liner look down into a compact mirror, this makes application easier. Add mascara to your top lashes only, and a couple of individual lashes to the outer corners to create a 40′s feel. Try The Brow Bar’s Long Weekend lashes for a fun flirty summer weekend.
Altuzarra Spring 2012 Ready to Wear featured a cascade of girls wearing dresses inset with Hawaiian prints, exquisite liquid fabrics and statement coats with meticulously executed tailoring. The collection swathed in quilted leathers, light-as-air nylons and techno-fabric prints has editors drawing comparisons between Joseph Altuzarra and the illustrious Balenciaga.
Back stage makeup artist, Tom Pecheux was replicating the infamous arches of the late Elizabeth Taylor on the Altuzarra runway models.
Pecheux worked a fuller-bodied brow by accentuating the arch and dusting the body of the brow onto Altuzarra muse, Vanessa Traina. “These brows are Elizabeth Taylor’s at the gym, not on the red carpet”.
The Brow Bar recommends that you lock away your tweezers in between appointments and let your brows take a sabbatical from incessant cultivation.
This season it’s all about that full, luscious arch. Let your brow return to its natural glory and a Brow Bar Arch Angel will take the reins from there.
This is not wild, schoolgirl brows, this is a thick yet dramatic power-brow! A Brow Bar Arch Angel will help you create your own Elizabeth Taylor brow at your next appointment with our acclaimed brow pencils and range of shadows available in store.
“I’ve always admitted that I’m ruled by my passions”
– Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011)
Lest we forget that quintessential face and those ever-perfect arches.
